LOOKING FOR A WAY TO UPGRADE YOUR CODING SKILLS?
The Health Data Classification Refresher is a self-paced, paper-based, web-supported, tutor-supported, distance education course.
The focus is on application of ICD-10-CA and CCI to classification of diagnoses and interventions in the acute care hospital environment
based on the textbook entitled ICD-10-CA/CCI Classification Primer.
This course is of interest to health information management professionals who:
- have not coded for some years and who wish to update their coding knowledge and skills
- wish to review their coding knowledge and skills to keep current with industry changes
- wish to seek advanced placement in the Douglas College Health Information Management Program
- have foreign credentials and are seeking Canadian certification
A Douglas College Continuing Education Course Certificate is issued.
Prerequisites:
copy of diploma or other proof of graduation from a CHIMA- recognized health information management program or other proof of eligibility for CHIMA membership.
Registration is continuous throughout the year. Start dates for summer registrants may be delayed due to vacation periods. The course must be completed within eight months from the start date.
