The Manitoba Provincial Client Registry Registration Best Practice Guidelines reflects the ongoing decisions and
recommendations made by the Business Working Group (BWG), the Registry Integrity Unit (RIU), and the Client Registry team.
Part of the mandate of this group is to identify the best practice guidelines for client registration and identity management,
to identify the data set and definitions in support of this, and to establish the framework for governance and operation
of the Manitobas Provincial Client Registry. The purpose of this document is to outline and define information standards
and business procedures to be followed as a Best Practice for source systems participating in the Client Registry.
By adhering to these procedures, participants will be providing consistency and uniformity in the client demographic data,
thus supporting Client Registry automated processes and the RIU in their attempts to ensure quality within the Client Registry.
This document reflects the current state capabilities of the source systems in place today, while pursuing compliance
with the provincial health standards. It is anticipated that as new registration systems are developed and implemented,
these systems will more closely comply with these provincial standards. In all cases, the target is to ensure that information is accurately recorded, as presented by the client.
The Best Practices document is intended to be a living and growing document, updated as new standards are developed and new source systems are added.
